Inheritance tax affects thousands of families across the UK, but it’s a subject that can feel difficult to bring up at the dinner table. If there’s one time of year that’s a natural trigger for discussions around inheritance, it’s Christmas; and, after an extremely challenging 2020, leaving a legacy has never been nearer the front of so many people’s minds. Enquiries for wills have increased by 76 per cent since the start of the coronavirus outbreak, according to financial advisory organisation deVere Group.
