Adviser Hour – Season I Episode 6 – Panel Discussion
The panel look ahead to the next tax year, and discuss what the next 12 months have in store for advisers within the tax efficient area. The last 12 months have been the most significant for decades = in terms of the changes to legislation and the overall landscape. These changes have seemingly cemented the likes of VCT, EIS and Seed EIS for the foreseeable future, and have been welcomed as a statement of intent by the government. There has been a broadly positive response from the investment managers and promoters in the media. Nonetheless, there remain significant questions and uncertainty around the impact and levels of investment in the short to medium terms.
Picking up on several recurring and interlinked themes from the series, the panel will give their verdicts on the outlook for advisers and their clients, and provide their views around the importance of portfolio diversification, including how best to look at sector specific investing, the right way to conduct due diligence and research. As part of an adviser “toolkit”, we will be looking at the practical framework of investing including appropriate PI cover, the use of 3rd party platforms, and how technology has a major role to play to encourage advisers in this space.
