Steve Dobson

Head of Investments

Steve joined GrowthInvest as Head of Investment in September of 2020, following a 25 year career at Goldman Sachs, a company he joined straight from University.

After starting in the back office he quickly moved across to Equities trading where he spent the bulk of his career there. Steve predominantly focussed on market making of equity derivatives, structured products, listed equity options, ETFs and Index Swaps. He also focussed on algorithmic execution of shares for internal order flow and order aggregation for the closing auction, whilst being recognised as the supervisor for all on exchange equity execution. His tenure at Goldman Sachs has earned him a place in the Goldman Sachs Quarter Century Club.

Steve has a BSc Honours degree in Banking and Finance from Loughborough University and has a good understanding of the UK’s banking and investment ecosystem. He is keen to drive education in the alternative investment space, working closely with Fund Managers and he is also a member of the EISA REM committee. He is very passionate about sustainability and investment to help combat climate change.

Outside of work Steve is a passionate Middlesbrough football fan, loves the outdoors and all things nature, and spending time on the side lines watching his sons play football.
