Launched in March 2025, the guidelines are designed to help fund managers enhance the credibility of sustainable investments while promoting greater transparency and best practices across the sector.
In an interview with Investment Week, Julia Dreblow, founder of SRI Services, and Dan van der Wekken, head of sustainability at BSI, said the guidelines are intended to “put meat on the bones of SDR.”
While acknowledging that fund managers may be experiencing regulatory fatigue after grappling with the wide-ranging measures introduced under the SDR—including anti-greenwashing rules, labelling, and marketing requirements—Dreblow and van der Wekken emphasised the importance of helping the industry interpret how these rules apply in practice.
Titled ‘Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 7342’, the new guidelines focus specifically on standards for sustainable funds. They build on the foundation laid by two earlier standards: PAS 7340 and PAS 7341.
