The Octopus Titan VCT has become the first investment of its kind to hit a £1 billion valuation.

VCTs are publicly listed companies that buy shares of other companies to make profits for their own shareholders. Investors can buy and sell shares in the trusts on the market. They are a type of investment trust, like the popular Scottish Mortgage trust, but they –invest only in young, small and typically unlisted companies.

The Octopus Titan VCT, with assets of £1.1 billion, is by far the largest in the market.
