Private assets in funds have reached a record $14.05 trn, up 9.6% this year and 77% since 2020.
Private equity is set to drive growth, nearly doubling from $9.9 trn to $17.4 trn by 2030. Infrastructure, private debt, and real estate are also expected to expand, pushing combined assets across these sectors to $23.9 trn.
Globally, total assets—including equities and bonds—rose $24.1 trn in the first eight months of 2025, reaching a record $267 trn.

Asia is leading private equity growth, with assets hitting a record $2.1 trn—up 15.8% this year—and driving 30% of global growth despite holding just one-fifth of total assets. North America remains the largest market, with $5.6 trn in private equity, up 9.6% year-to-date.
