UK VC Funding Increases 43.5% YoY to $1.2B in Jan 2025 Despite Fewer Deals – Report

Despite the drop in deal volume, total funding surged 43.5%, rising from $863.2M in January 2024 to $1.2B in January 2025, according to GlobalData.

GlobalData’s Deals Database analysis found that the UK ranked among the top five global markets for VC funding by both deal volume and value.

In January 2025, the UK accounted for 5.8% of global VC deals, with a 5% share of total funding value.

Notable UK VC deals in January 2025 included Verdiva Bio’s $411M fundraising, Synthesia’s $180M funding, and Lindus Health’s $55M raise.
