Sarah Pritchard has called on regulators and private markets firms to focus on strong operational controls and transparency to maintain investor confidence.
Speaking at the Investment Association Private Markets Summit 2026 on 11 May, she warned that periods of market stress are inevitable and firms must ensure systems are robust enough to cope.
Her comments follow recent pressure in the US private credit sector, including withdrawal restrictions introduced by Blue Owl after heightened redemption requests from retail investors.
Pritchard said the situation highlighted the importance of transparency, noting that investors are more likely to withdraw funds when they lack clear visibility into portfolio holdings.
