The East of England has the third highest number of female angel investors in the UK, according to new research based on figures up to April 2022. It shows the region not far behind the South East but still way off top area London.

Cambridge Angels, including the male retiring chair Simon Thorpe and his successor Pam Garside – the group’s first woman chief – hailed the news as a step in the right direction and pledged to help build on the trend to make female angels increasingly influential in the business landscape.

The Women Angel Insights report from the UK Business Angels Association and Beauhurst reveals that more than 5,000 women have made £2 billion of angel investments across the UK, helping to create over 10,000 jobs in the past decade.
