Firms planning to raise capital through EIS on rise

The number of small businesses planning to raise money through the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) rose nearly 10% year-on-year.
They rose from 2,965 in 2019/20 to 3,245 in 2020/21 according to private equity firm Growthdeck.
The private equity firm believes that the rise in SMEs looking to raise funds though EIS shows that enthusiasm for equity fundraising among small businesses is growing.
Growthdeck head of business development Amy Shrives said: “EIS fundraising bounced back quickly once the initial shock of the pandemic was out of the way.
