We have just been informed that after many months of negotiation Acamar Films has signed a new four-year agreement with the BBC for the number-one children’s TV series Bing. This new deal contains fewer digital restrictions and should enable Acamar to take full advantage of Bing’s popularity online and increase revenues from digital platforms such as YouTube, Amazon Prime and the new bespoke Bing app due to launch in September. We have also seen a trading update. The May 2019 month-end actual results show Acamar is ahead of its budgeted overall performance and should be on track to meet the annual revenue forecast of £6.1m for the year ending 30 September 2019 with visibility of around 90% of the target revenues at this stage, although there are no guarantees and the company is not yet profitable.
